Will a couple of weeks there appeared a new comment on the post that I spent in the month of April to Aotearoa (New Zealand), within the World Tour 2 ... It was, nothing more and nothing less than Brent Cairns, one of the two components of NakedArt, whose beautiful and realistic works and I had spoken, and from Kaiapoi kindly invited me to visit your new page, and even study if bring me back to the South Island ... As one is grateful, and more with that heavenly country, one of the places where I would like to retire, I will offer samples of their new local art, hand in hand with these two great artists behind the brand are NakedArt BRENT & Shirley Cairns. .. Knowing that some of the most famous works of art and most popular of all time have involved the human form, this pair of authors like to continue that tradition with his unique style of sculpture ... His creative ability draws out the inner beauty of each of the persons offered as a model, since the techniques they've developed get to show in detail the capture of the human body and how The medium used to create their pieces cast is generally imported from the United States, later you apply multiple layers of colored enamel, a technique that produces a bronze effect and allows you to look changing to sculpture, depending on the intensity light during the day or under artificial light at night ... Tin and aluminum are other materials that have experienced, giving them a contemporary look thoughtful and unique ... and other means used recently is the glass, showing that the wonderful effects that are achieved when combining the human body and translucent crystalline characteristics, recreate an entire environment get sensual ... With this brief selection of their new works in glass and aluminum, you can see that, regardless of which material they are made, remains a worthy package to revere the human form, this being the underlying value behind each of the sculptures that create after taking a mold of a live model How well you look ... And apparently still generating new works, remain vigilant and expect to continue enjoying their new jobs because their production and imagination appears limitless, luckily for us Already we saw in World Tour 2: Aotearoa - New Zealand ... but I strongly recommend you to visit their original pages, where I selected the photos today by clicking here
hi pru; I can not believe that some of these works are painted plaster .. amazing technical skill, delicacy and strength of these two artists leave New Zealand .. gladly visit your Web site carefully ..

How to sell art, which relates to why you should buy art...found on artbusiness.com

Why Should People Buy and Own Art?

Selling art is harder than making art. This sentiment has been and will continue to be echoed by fine artists everywhere for as long as artists make art. Once a work of art is finished and ready to leave its artist's studio, the seemingly insurmountable task of convincing someone that they might want to display it and, perish the thought, pay money for it in order to own it, presents itself. To make your job of selling art a bit easier, and in the interest of wanting more people to own more art, please feel free to incorporate any or all of the following thoughts, as you see fit, into as many of your fine art sales presentations as necessary.

Art is a powerful form of expression for artists as well as for those who own it. Art allows people to convey or demonstrate deeply held feelings and beliefs as well as moral, ethical, and political sentiments in socially acceptable ways.

Art encourages people to ask questions, to take brief moments out of their busy lives to reflect on ideas other than how to make more money faster or how to get over on the competition.

Art makes people think about ways how life might one day be better than it is now.

Art can stimulate the expression and interchange of thoughts, feelings, and ideas among total strangers who would not ordinarily talk to each other.

Children are fascinated with art. Art makes children ask questions. Art makes children fantasize and imagine. Art teaches children how to be creative and have fun with life.

Art beautifies and personalizes environments. Art can transform private homes or places of business into personal museums.

Art can be used as a tool of power-- to intimidate. For example, imagine an office with a bold, vibrant, oversized painting hanging on the wall directly behind the desk, and two imposing larger-than-life sculptures, one at either side of the desk. Anyone who sits and meets with the person seated behind the desk must contend not only with that person, but also with the art.

An original work of art is not only visually appealing, but it also communicates the personality, abilities, creativity, inspiration, mind, and sometimes the genius of the artist who created it.

An original work of art reflects and often enhances the personality of the individual who owns it.

Art attracts tourism, visitors, and dollars. People travel to the great cities of the world to see great museums, works of art, and, of course, they spend money while doing so.

People decide what locations to spend time (and money) at based on the types and amounts of art they expect to encounter. For example, commercial spaces such as restaurants, hotels, and meeting places can be more or less interesting and attractive to consumers depending on the art they display (or lack of it).

Art is environmentally friendly, energy efficient (assuming it's not by Nam June Paik et al.), and easy to maintain. It does not increase global warming, use fossil fuels, or need regular tune-ups.

Across the country and around the world, artists move into troubled or blighted neighborhoods and revitalize them with their artistry. Property values increase, new businesses move in, and the overall quality of life improves immeasurably. Sooner or later, the public discovers what wonderful places these neighborhoods have become. In some cases, people travel thousands of miles to visit them, vacation there, and buy art.

Art makes people proud to live, work, and play where they do. They point to their museums, public monuments, and cultural institutions with pride.

As you can see, owning fine art has numerous benefits. Perhaps it's not so difficult to sell after all.

Google and the Arts

We have now set up the websites glasssculpture.info and already we are starting to get traffic...along with sites the likes of glassfused.com and glassfused.info

What I am baffled about is the number of sites that are owned by people that have bought them to make money solely from google adds...good example is glasssculpture.com it doesnt have anything about glass sculptures with the exception of google adds...
And of course you try and optimize your site with lots of information about your own glass sculptures but why would google want to put your site ahead of a site that is there to earn them money...they arent are they...

So that is my grumble for the day...

On a positive note the gallery in Surfers paradise that I wrote about last week that owed us many thousands of $$$$$ has finally sent a cheque for 20% of what they owe...it will be interesting to see if it clears ok..
In the end I threatened to write to all of the Australian art magazines...that had the gallery owner who owns 2 other galleries, and the bad publicity would no go down well at all...Interestly enough the magazines I did write too didnt bother to even reply...so they obviously not interested at all in the arts and the artists...all they are interested in is the revenue they get from the art galleries...

New Website - figurative glass sculptures

Well it all started when we sold another glass sculpture this week...a couple walked into our studio after buying the sculpture called "tango"
They saw our glass sculptures and placed an order for "glass veil"

We then realized that to market our glass sculptures, our top of the range product we needed to be more clever, we needed to market under a different website, all on its own so it could stand out and as being different to our normal run of the mill sculptures, if you could call them that....NakedArt sculptures from live models...run of the mill I think not

So we went and had a look and found that glasssculpture.info glassfused.com and glassfused.info were all available..so we bought them all...

Give us a few days and you will see all of our glass sculptures on one site...

Galleries that dont pay their artists...shame on you..

We had a gallery in Queensland Australia that currently owes us many thousands...
They closed the gallery, had a sale and sold artwork at reduced prices, all without our knowledge..they still have 2 galleries one in Surfers Paradise and Mooloobar.
They sold the artwork in before November 2009...so it has been a long time... yet they are still to pay us
We have visited, have emailed, have texted and called...yet they have decided that they would rather fund their life-style by not paying their artists...
We decided to email all of the other artists that these 2 galleries also represent..and we started to get replies and some have sent the info onto their artist friends..but one thing happened after months of no contact/no replies to requests for payment the gallery emailed asking us to stop emailing the artists and promising payment...
We shall see...
Shall we name the gallery????
Look forward to your feedback
have a great day, stay positive

Artists and selling online

I have popped into Twitter and looking at all the of the artists sites there...on twitter, artists maybe around 1900...so really when you consider things...and the millions of pages on twitter..that is not that many...
One thing I have seen is the growing number of sites selling artwork...
They offer free membership and ask that the artist surrenders 10% of the sales fee to the website owner...which really is the same as what we are offering and when you consider the cost of credit card transactions at 3-6% 10% is very reasonable...
But what I want to know is it working...we have had around 50-60 people per day visiting our site and whilst there only a few artists at this stage...no sales or enquiries...however we are getting people interested in being part of our database..which is good...
One thing that we are offering is genre...we only want to promote figurative art...paintings, photography and sculptures...this sets us apart and with our website names http://wwwnakednudeartshop.com and http;//www.nakedartshop.com
then people that are looking for naked art will find Naked Art...

Would love to hear peoples comments, are you an artist and are you selling online...is it worth the hassle...does online images work to sell art...or is it only cheap art that sells online...
If you are a buyer...are you will to shell out $8000...seeing only an image online...takes some balls to do that
Look forward to hearing from you...
Thanks
This image is for sale a unframed canvas..1300 x 800mm for $450 plus postage

New Artist images...sculptures in bronze

Hadiya's Biography
I grew up in New York City. My father was a commercial artist and took an interest in
my creative abilities. I attended art workshops with professional artists starting at the
age of 5.
So from a very young age I was exposed to many forms of art in workshops, museums
and books, I met artists and visited their studios. I attended the High School of Music
and Art as an art major, after which I attended SUNY Binghamton where I majored in
studio theater. After graduation I worked for the New York City recreation Dept and
continued to study art at the Art Students’ League and the Educational Alliance with
Chaim Gross, from whom I received an award.
Since coming to Los Angeles I have continued to study and make art. I attended the
Design, Art and Architecture program at Santa Monica College where I worked with
assemblage artist George Herms, and others, I received my MFA from Claremont
Graduate University in 2002. I have shown in solo and group shows in galleries in Los
Angeles and Guangzhou, China.
My art centers mainly on the female form which I create using a variety of materials
both 2 and 3 dimensional. I present images which may evoke strange feelings and
fantastic ideas by juxtaposing materials and content in unique ways.

Here artwork can be seen and purchased at www.nakednudeartshop.com

3 New Artists are part of NakedNudeArtShop.com

Introducing Roz McQuillan

I have always been fascinated by people, their character and the individuality of their faces, which has led to my passionate interest in portraits and figurative work. My nudes are real people, not generic or idealized. I try to capture the essence of a person, their uniqueness and the way they express themselves in their body.
My other fascination is with the drama of light, and the way it shapes and changes objects, enhances composition, and
        creates mood.
